Where talent
meets impact.

The challenge
the mission

We're on a mission to connect the best talent to worthwhile causes and organisations, to make a real difference.

For our first draft, we're partnering with the Muslim Scout Fellowship (MSF), the UK's largest Muslim youth organisation.

Over 70 Scout groups.

More than 5,000 young people given access to leadership, skills and community, every single week.

the problem
Muslim Scout Fellowship

800 kids.
Dozens of events.
Thousands of scores.
One spreadsheet.

Every year, the Muslim Scouts Olympics brings together hundreds of young people to compete across running, jumping, throwing and challenge events.

Behind the scenes, the entire competition runs on paper. Volunteers record results by hand. Sheets make their way back to a scoring team. Scores are manually entered into a complex spreadsheet that calculates points, medals and the final leaderboard.

One missing sheet. One mistyped score. One broken formula. And the whole thing gets a lot more stressful, fast.

Our challenge: build a scoring system that can run the Olympics from the first result to the final medal.

join the team

We need two Forward Deployed Impact Engineers.

It's a role we invented for this. You'll embed with MSF's scout organisers, work out what they actually need and build it alongside them. Then you'll be on the ground when it goes live.

6 weeks, evenings and weekends. Hands-on delivery.

Product

Spend time with the scouts, understand the problem and turn it into something buildable. Keep the build honest to what's needed.

Builder

Ship it quickly with sensible technical calls, and make sure it holds up on the day, under pressure.

About you

You're comfortable with ambiguity and good at working alongside partner organisations.

You're low ego. You listen before you build, collaborate well and care more about solving the problem than owning the solution.

And importantly, you're doing this for the right reasons.

Donating skills ≥ donating money

We believe giving your time and skills can be just as valuable as giving money—and sometimes more so.

Your skills are a gift. Put them to work for something that lasts.

questions

Frequently asked.

How experienced do I need to be?

It depends on the mission. We're looking for people who are good at what they do and can take ownership. Each draft will outline what we're looking for.

What's the time commitment?

It varies by mission, and we'll always give you a clear idea upfront. If your application looks like a good fit, we'll have a quick call to talk through the project, commitment and expectations before either side commits.

Is this paid?

No. Drafted is about donating your skills to causes that need them. We'll make sure the work is scoped, purposeful and respectful of your time.

I'm not technical. Can I still contribute?

Absolutely. Not every problem needs code. We'll draft for whatever skills the mission needs, from product and design to strategy, operations and beyond.

I'm not a fit for this mission. Will there be others?

Yes. This is the first of many, with new causes and organisations lined up. Apply anyway; we'll keep your details on file and reach out when a mission fits.
